IP check: when to run one and what to do next
A check takes ten seconds. The skill lies in knowing when it is worth doing and what a surprising result means.
No card, no account. The key is cut and delivered in Telegram in about a minute.

The moments that justify it
You do not need a daily check. There are five occasions when it earns its ten seconds: after joining a new Wi-Fi, after you switch a tunnel on, when a service asks you to confirm a login you did not expect to be questioned about, when a page seems to think you are in the wrong country, and after a router swap. The rest of the time your address is simply lent to your line, and a change you cannot see is not a change that needs your attention. Make the check a habit tied to events, not to the calendar, and it stays quick and useful instead of becoming a chore.
The routine
- 1Run your IP check with the tunnel off and note the address, the provider and the town.
- 2Switch the tunnel on, wait for the client to say connected, and run it again.
- 3The address and provider should both have changed. The town should match the location you chose, give or take a nearby city.
- 4If nothing changed, the client is not capturing traffic. Try the mode that takes everything rather than the one that only asks browsers.
- 5Check once more after turning the tunnel off.
Check my IP location, and the limits
When you check IP address location, the town shown comes from a database, not from your phone. Providers register blocks of addresses to a regional hub, so the result may name a place some distance away, and that is the lookup being coarse and not your connection being odd. Somebody who types check my IP location hoping for a pin on their own house will be disappointed, and anyone trying to find you will be too.
Can an address be used to track someone
You will see pages that promise to track IP address exact location. They cannot do it. An address gives a provider and an approximate area. Tying it to a person needs the provider's own records, and providers release those only through proper legal channels. A stranger in a game lobby or a comment thread cannot take a number and arrive at a door. If someone is threatening you, report the messages to the platform and the police, and keep the evidence. Do not rely on a lookup site, because it will only point to a town.
Reading a surprise
- A provider you do not recognise on a mobile network: normal, since some networks are leased from others.
- Two towns on two checkers: the databases disagree, and the number is the same.
- A hosting company after you switched the key on: this is the expected result.
- A hosting company with the tunnel off: you may have a work or school connection, or another tunnel running in the background.
- Your own provider with the key on: the traffic is going around the tunnel, so check the client first.

The ledger
We keep no ledger of you, only of the key
Royal Key holds three things: a Telegram chat, the key sent to it and the date that key expires. No account sits behind them, so there is nothing for a log to attach to, and we never ask for a name, an email address or a phone number. It is a modest claim, and we prefer it to pretending that no jurisdiction could ever reach us.
- No account, email address or phone number
- No record of the sites you visit
- No connection times or IP addresses kept
- No card details: you pay inside Telegram
- No renewal and no charge you did not choose
At the counter
Asked at the counter
How often should I run an IP check?
When something changes, such as a new network, a new tunnel or an unexpected login prompt. Otherwise there is little to see.
Does an IP check show my real location?
It shows the provider's registered area. For most homes that is the nearest regional centre.
Can I check someone else's IP?
You can look up any public number, and you will get a provider and an approximate area. That is all there is to see.
Why does the check show IPv6 as well?
Because your connection supports both formats. A leak test should confirm that both are covered.
My check shows a hosting company without a tunnel. Why?
Another tunnel may be running, perhaps on your work laptop or an old client. Close it and check again.
Question not on the list?
The bot that cuts keys also answers questions. The setup section names the client to install.
