What happens when you use one
A free web proxy is a page with a box in the middle. You paste an address, the proxy's server visits that address on your behalf, and the result is shown inside the proxy's own page. The site you wanted sees the proxy and not you. Your school, library or office network sees only that you visited the proxy. For a blocked article or a quick look at a page, that can be enough.
The catch follows directly from how it works. Because the proxy fetches and rewrites the page, it reads everything that passes through: the text, the forms you fill in, the cookies. Nothing about the arrangement keeps its owner from looking.
What it does well
- ✓Opens a plain, public page on a network that blocks the real address.
- ✓Needs no install, no key and no account.
- ✓Works from a locked-down computer where you cannot add software.
- ✓Covers one tab at a time and then lets go, so nothing stays running in the background.
Where it falls over
- ✓Video, live pages and anything heavy often fail because the rewriting breaks scripts.
- ✓Logins are a risk. A proxy that rewrites the page also sees the password you type into it.
- ✓The proxy's own address is often on the same blocklist you are trying to avoid.
- ✓Other apps on the device are untouched. Only the pages you paste into that one box go through.
- ✓There are usually adverts, and you cannot tell what else is added to the page.
A free VPN for web browsing is not the same thing
People often lump a free VPN web browsing extension in with a proxy page, and they are close cousins. An extension typically sends only browser traffic through a server, and it needs permission to read the pages you visit. Searches for free VPN proxy VPN bring up both kinds mixed together, which is part of the confusion. The test is simple: ask what leaves your device. A real tunnel carries every app, encrypted from your device to the exit. A proxy page carries the pages you paste into it, and the proxy sees their contents.
A rule of thumb
Use a web proxy only for things you would be happy to read aloud on the bus: a public news page, a recipe, a forum thread you do not post in. Do not sign in anywhere through one, and do not enter card numbers or personal details. If you want to do more than that, a tunnel is the better tool. Royal Key hands out a VLESS key through its Telegram bot, with ten days free and no card, and any free app that understands VLESS, Hiddify or v2rayNG for instance, will take it. The tunnel covers the whole device, the same as any VPN would.
Who made this page
Royal Key sells the key mentioned above, so we have a stake in you choosing a tunnel over a proxy page, and you should weigh the advice with that in mind. Check anything that matters against the proxy's own page. No proxy site is ranked here, and we say nothing about how any specific one behaves.

Try the key in your own lock first
Message our Telegram bot and it writes back with a key for you.
- Your key arrives in Telegram within a minute
- No card, no email address, no ID checks
- Fits a client you may already have
- Covers five devices
Nothing is charged, and no plaque renews by itself.
The ledger
We keep no ledger of you, only of the key
Royal Key holds three things: a Telegram chat, the key sent to it and the date that key expires. No account sits behind them, so there is nothing for a log to attach to, and we never ask for a name, an email address or a phone number. It is a modest claim, and we prefer it to pretending that no jurisdiction could ever reach us.
- No account, email address or phone number
- No record of the sites you visit
- No connection times or IP addresses kept
- No card details: you pay inside Telegram
- No renewal and no charge you did not choose
At the counter
Asked at the counter
Can I trust a free proxy site with a login?
For reading public pages, usually. For logins and payments, no, because the proxy can read what you type.
Why does the video not play through the proxy?
The proxy rewrites the page, and players often break when scripts change. A tunnel leaves the page untouched.
Does a proxy hide my address from the website?
From the site, yes. From the proxy itself, no, since it receives your request directly.
Will a proxy get round a school filter?
Sometimes, until the proxy's address is added to the filter. School rules still apply to whatever you do.
Can I use a proxy on my phone?
You can open one in the phone's browser, with the same limits. A client with a key covers the apps as well.
Question not on the list?
The bot that cuts keys also answers questions. The setup section names the client to install.
